Mega Driving School abides by all of the state and federal laws and regulations required in preparing all of our students for a successful career as a Commercial Vehicle Driver. Our CDL truck driving classes vary and there is a driving school class that is right for everyone, from the beginner to those with some experience
4-weeks CDL Program: This is a 160 hour program; this course provides an education in tractor-trailer or straight truck driving. This also includes safe driving techniques and hands-on training in the commercial vehicle. It covers classroom instruction, driving and observation. This package is recommended for drivers with some truck experience.
5-weeks CDL Program: This is a 200 hour program; this course provides an emphasis on local pickup and delivery operations, defensive driving techniques in city traffic conditions and backing techniques. This program is designed to provide comprehensive training in all aspects of safe, defensive driving in demanding local traffic conditions.
6-weeks CDL Program: This is a 240 hour program; this course includes everything that the 4 and 5 week programs cover. This course provides an in depth training for operating the tractor-trailer. This training program is recommended to all entry drivers with no experience with a manual transmission.
Qualifications: You must be at least 18 years of age in order to drive a commercial vehicle within the state lines.
You must be at least 21 years of age to drive a commercial vehicle across state lines, carry hazardous materials or transport passengers.
You must carry a valid Illinois Drivers License; it cannot be suspended, revoked, cancelled or disqualified.
Full Course Class A: Class A consists of training for a combination vehicle; tractor-trailer over 26,000 pounds.
Full Course Class B: Class B consists of training for a single vehicle such as a straight truck or for a bus for over 26,000 pounds.
Upgrade to class A: This course is for students who posses a class B license and would like to upgrade to a class A. This program is for students who would like to purse training for a combination vehicle.
Refreshing Course: This program is for the renewal of Commercial Drivers License for either class A, class B or for a bus.
Endorsements We offer practice for all endorsements: passengers, hazardous materials, tankers, double and triple trailer.
